One of the first magazines I remember buying was Disco 45, I recall the endless waiting for it to come out. It was only stocked in one dusty little shop just along the high street. It was never clear when it would come in, so it would take several trips before I could get my hands on one. Along with some personal ads from “groovy girls” looking for “hairy guys’, it published the words to a selection of current chart hits, so there was always a sense of anticipation about which songs would be included and profound disappointment if my favourite songs were not included. The words to some of these songs remain ingrained in my memory today.
